shuffling through memories

Shuffle your itunes and then list the first 5 songs and a memory you have with each of them. DO IT.

found this on someone's formspring and thought it was a cool idea for a short and sweet blog, so here we go.

(my music taste varies slightly..so if you don't appreciate rap or particularly like foul language, you should probably not click on the links to certain songs...)

1. Gucci Maine ft. Yo Gotti - Work Ya Wrist
I used to play this in Dane's Land Rover on the way to school last semester when my car was being fixed. I would drop him off at work, lounge around until 1pm when I had class. He had a system in his car (which was recently stolen out of his car, while it was parked AT our house! RUDE.) and it was on a CD I had just made. The system only made it sound better...it got me pumped up for "working" like all gangsta rap does.

2. Give In To Me - Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester
I just recently saw the movie Country Strong. I loved Gwyneth Paltrow in all of her appearances on the show Glee, so when Dane's sister had it on redbox, I watched it. It was pretty good, not really what I thought it was about but, I never even knew who Leighton Meester was. Or that she had an amazing voice. I actually prefer her to Sara Evans singing I get a little bit stronger. So this duet with Garrett Hedlund from the Country Strong soundtrack is just perfection, love it.

3. Welcome Back - Young Jeezy
This reminds me of when I lived on Bryan Ave. when I first moved to Wilmington. I had just graduated high school, taken a trip to Paris, and moved out of my dads house and into a house with 3 girls I didn't even know. I was in a tad bit of a rebellious phase...but it was probably one of the most fun times in my life. Good memories...

4. Shut Up and Let me go! - The Ting Tings
I'm pretty sure the first time I heard this, I was in Paris at Camille's sister's flat. She had an amazing home and while making us dinner this was one of the songs that came on her shuffle and ever since then I've loved it. Especially because it takes me back to a time of pure happiness!

5.Collie Man - Slightly Stoopid
So in love with this song in high school. My junior year I think. We were obsessed with Slightly Stoopid and I lost two ipods, so I barely have any of their music on my new one. Guess I need to start searching for long lost songs!!
